WHAT IS COMMUNION?
Before Jesus died he commanded his disciples to observe a meal of bread and wine remembering his broken body and blood shed whenever they gathered for worship (Matt. 26:26-29). Christians are saved by grace alone from God through faith in Jesus with nothing added to it, including baptism and communion (Eph. 2:8). Though not a requirement for salvation, they are to be done as a remembrance of salvation and assimilation into the family of God (1 Cor. 11:23-33). God’s great loss should be our great love!
